Motor Design Ltd is the distributor for the following software:

SPEED is the worlds leading software for the design of electric motors. Programs are available for the design of Brushless Permanent Magnet, Induction, Switched Reluctance, DC Commutator and Universal Motors.

Motor-CAD is the unique software package for the thermal analysis of electric motors. Programs are available for the design of Brushless Permanent Magnet, Outer Rotor BPM, Induction, Permanent Magnet DC, Switched Reluctance, Synchronous and Claw Pole machines.

FLUX is a finite element software for electromagnetic and thermal simulation that can be used for the design of any electromagnetic device. Its advanced features are particularly suited to electric motor design.

PORTUNUS is a system simulator that has been developed by Adapted Solutions especially for the calculation of mechatronic systems. Applications range from the simulation of drive systems to heating of electronic components and thermal analysis of complex systems.

Motor-FLOW streamlines the use of software in the electric motor design and development process. It simplifies the automation of complex calculations using different design and analysis packages. Possible uses are for torque-speed graphs, optimisation, sensitivity analysis, robust analysis, efficiency maps etc.

Eff-MAP produces Electric Motor Efficient Maps. It uses SPEED PC-BDC to calculate the torque and efficiency at a range of speed, current and phase advance angles. Interpolation techniques are then used to calculate and plot the efficiency map of the machine.
