Multi-physics simulation workflow with ANSYS

In November Motor Design Ltd (MDL) presented a multi-physics simulation workflow at the CADFEM users conference. This approach was first presented by EM-motive GmbH (a joint Bosch & Daimler company), to show how Motor-CAD is used alongside ANSYS Maxwell, Fluent, Mechanical and Dynardo OptiSlang to achieve an efficient and comprehensive product development simulation workflow. Automated links between Motor-CAD, ANSYS and OptiSlang gives significant time savings and makes transferring data between the tools reliable and accurate.

More information about links to ANSYS and OptiSlang, and our other software partners, can be seen here.

CADFEM ANSYS Simulation Conference 2017, Koblenz

Dr Dave Staton (MDL President) gave a joint Keynote presentation on stages of simulation for E-Mobility with Martin Hanke (CADFEM GmbH) at this event. There were over 700 attendees and the paper generated substantial interest.

7th International Electric Drives & Production 2017 Conference, Wuerzburg, Germany.

Dr Unai San Andres (MDL Senior Research Engineer) delivered a paper on the impact of the manufacturing processes on the performance of electric machines. It was well received by a large audience who instigated stimulating discussion afterwards.

MDL Contributes to Exciting New Book

Dr Dave Staton (MDL President) and Dr Mircea Popescu (MDL Head of Engineering) have both contributed to an exciting new book “Multiphysics Simulation by Design for Electrical Machines, Power Electronics and Drives” , now available from Wiley.
The book combines the knowledge of experts from both academia and the software industry to present theories of multiphysics simulation by design for electrical machines, power electronics, and drives.
