New for 2020…

Technical presentations and advanced modelling workshops will be spread across both days of the conference and we will be holding motor design clinics, where specific topics, such as cooling, losses, optimisation and system modelling, will be explored in depth. The aim of these clinics is to enable attendees to discuss their specific questions with the design engineers and software developers who develop Motor-CAD.

We will also be running a free, hands-on Motor-CAD workshop on the 18th February ahead of the main user conference. Join us to work through a live modelling example and learn how to calculate electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical behaviour—including generating outputs such as efficiency maps—and perform analysis over duty cycles.

What is Motor-CAD software and how can it help you in your electric motor designs? Join our free, hands-on workshop to find out.

About this workshop

Motor Design Ltd will be running a free, hands-on ‘Introduction to Motor-CAD’ workshop on the 18th February, ahead of our 2020 Motor-CAD European User Conference.

What you will learn

This workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to Motor-CAD software, delivered by motor design specialists from Motor Design Ltd (developers of Motor-CAD). Participants will work through a modelling example for a synchronous permanent magnet machine and learn how to calculate electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical behaviour, including generating outputs such as efficiency maps, and perform analysis over duty cycles. All calculations will be performed live during the day, and at the end of the workshop participants will be able to competently drive Motor-CAD and start to experiment with their own designs and design variations.

Who should attend?

Engineers who wish to learn how to use Motor-CAD to design, analyse and optimise electric machines. Please note, this workshop is aimed at non-established users of Motor-CAD and engineers who have not used the software previously.
